Cashman Equipment Corporate Headquarters is a 55 acre campus of seven buildings which consolidates operations in the southern Nevada area and is the hub for their 8 outlying facilities. The Corporate Headquarter’s Administration Building features 66,000 SF of administrative and training space on three floors which includes: HR, Sales, Finance, 6Sigma, Warranty, Service and IT. The campus also contains a Parts Warehouse and Sales area, Heavy Equipment Shops, Weld Shops, Rental Store, EPG (Electric Power Generator) Division and Retail Store. The design of all the facilities placed heavy emphasis on the user comfort and amenities and include a large employee cafeteria and kitchen, outdoor patios and courtyards, locker rooms with individual showers, an employee library and team collaboration spaces. The design is built around a strong corporate identity to reinforce the Caterpillar brand.
One of the most significant features of Cashman Equipment is sustainability. The campus has achieved a LEED Gold rating. To achieve this, the entire complex is serviced by an underground geothermal system to reduce HVAC operating costs by as much as 45%. Abundant natural light in 90% of occupied spaces coupled with solar shading control with exterior louvers and interior shades controlled by automatic sun sensors reduces lighting and HVAC costs as well. All interior lighting systems are controlled by occupancy and daylight sensors to further reduce utility costs. The building uses a high percentage of recycled products such as terrazzo tile with recycled glass aggregate, fabrics of 100% recycled polyester, carpet with recycled yarn and lockers made from recycled milk cartons.
SH architecture provided programming, planning, design, interior design, equipment specification, signage, furniture and art specification and purchase, and extended CA for the fast track 15 month construction schedule.
