The Inspirada Animal Hospital is a 8,550 SF facility with a heavy emphasis on luxury boarding. The hospital portion contains seven exam rooms (including a large animal exam room), a four station treatment area with two additional dental stations and separate rooms for endoscopy, surgery, x-ray, isolation, recovery and cat hospitalization. Pharmacy and a private doctors’ work area is located between the exam rooms and treatment room to allow easy accessibility for doctors and assistants. The boarding areas feature a range of small to large dog boarding areas and a luxury dog area with separate, larger rooms for individual boarding. The boarding areas also include a separate grooming room and two covered/shaded outdoor enclosed dog run areas.
The hospital is designed to match the design guidelines of the existing commercial-retail center and includes plaster over all concrete masonry walls (interior and exterior) and sealed/stained concrete floors in public areas for durability. The check-in counter is designed for abuse with solid surfacing materials and porcelain tile cladding all exposed surfaces. The exterior features a slate-look porcelain tile wainscot with shaker-type concrete roof tiles on pitched roof elements. The more traditional feel of the entry and waiting areas features natural daylighting into the public spaces and evokes the feel of a private care physician. The building is situated on the site as close as possible to Bicentennial Parkway with client parking adjacent to the public entry. The main corner of building is elevated with a pitched roof element to provide a highly visible sign element for motorists along Bicentennial and Sun City Anthem Drive.
The building is designed to be seen at night with the halo lit signs on the building, ground mounted up-lighting around the perimeter on the building and soffit lighting at the overhangs of the pitched roof areas. The site landscaping was designed to match the existing parkway landscaping along Bicentennial Parkway and surrounding the retail center. An artificial turf pet walking area was added between the parking and the building for clients’ convenience.
