Whitney Rooker

Junior Design Associate

Whitney is originally from Phoenix Arizona, but home to her is Winnemucca, Nevada as she spent the majority of her childhood, and early adulthood there before making the move out to Salt Lake City, six years ago to start her journey through the architecture program at the University of Utah.  Her love for architecture began after a sophomore beginners course in Beginners Hand Drafting, then continued to learn drafting and modeling followed by the last course of designing her own pull Barn and house and all the coordinating plans. She is currently about to start her last semester in the master’s program and will be graduating in May 2017. Last year, Whitney completed the Design Build Bluff Program at the University of Utah, designing and building an 800 SF. multipurpose space during the fall semester then moved to Bluff, Utah for 3 weeks each month from January  through the end of April to learn everything from how to lay the foundation, to actually reusing a previous building to mill their own lumber for the construction of the walls. As a team of 14 they learned to work together, to build and design an entire building in 2 semesters during their first year in the master’s program. Outside of architecture, Whitney enjoys traveling wherever she gets the chance, and getting out to see as much as she can. After their International trip to Vancouver Canada, Whitney and her Fiancé hope to do more international trips in the near future.
