As part of the 100-bed expansion at the Mission Creek Corrections Center for Women, a minimum security institution, an abbreviated pre-design study was completed prior to Schematic Design. The General Administration, in its review of the study, commended its completeness and clarity. This project involved leasing property from the Department of Natural Resources to accommodate the new building and a large on-site septic system. The project achieved LEED Silver certification. The project had a MACC of $4.029 million.
In addition to the 100-bed expansion project, four projects ran concurrently with the addition:
1. $90,000 Water Systems Improvements project combined the existing domestic and fire water distribution system on the campus.
2. $180,000 Emergency Generator & Hot Water System Upgrade for the 120-Bed Housing Unit provided a new emergency generator and upgrading the hot water system.
3. $170,000 Underground Storage Tank Replacement project included the removal of an existing 10,000 gallon underground storage tank and 1,000 gallon above ground tank and replaced with a 6,500 gallon double-wall tank.
4. $160,000 Fire Alarm and Suppression at the Gymnasium and Laundry to replace the fire alarm system and fully-sprinkler the existing approximately 12,000 square foot gymnasium and laundry. An asbestos survey structural analysis was required.
