Walgreens at the Venetian was the number one sales leader in the United States. Walgreens decided to upgrade the image, size and reposition the store as a flagship store for the chain. There are currently flagship stores in Chicago and New York City. The store included the typical pharmacy, “Look Boutique,” and general merchandise but also added regional departments for souvenirs, food market, coffee bar, beer cave and photo services.
The interior design of the store is designed to relate to the Venetian through ceiling forms, floor finishes, railings and moulding details. The highlighted retail departments have marble tile floors and vaulted ceilings with recessed cove lighting. Careful attention is given to integrate store branding and department branding into the overall interior concept.
